Introduction

This app is a "light" version of the "UK museum guides"  Transport museums  App. It will run on Android version 2.2 or later .

Aims

The aim of the application is to allow users to obtain information on visiting the museums shown in the main menu, and to get driving directions to the said museum. An information screen provides a condensed history of the site and "at a glance" information on Parking,pricing,cafes and opening times.

Audience

There are many popular museums across the UK with millions of visitors per year who would benefit from this App.The App is also useful for Heritage railway fans as it covers museums at operating steam railways as well as the more traditional museums. If you have ever tried to find the information included in the guide from the museums web sites you will notice it can take a long time!

Features

Features include maps with driving directions,zoomable info screen,phone and email buttons,PDFs of site maps or timetables and vintage transport videos.

You can also use your phones GPS to navigate to the museum via the driving directions button,see below.

The main menu is shown below.The map screens, navigated to via the top two buttons, show the location of selected museums in the North or South of Britain using Google maps. A marker shows the users current location.

Tapping on a red marker will open a dialog box showing the name of the museum and a button giving the option to obtain driving directions.

Each sub menu that is navigated to from the main menu button for each museum, lists a number of features that can be viewed on separate screens.
